Got out this morning 7ish to 10ish.

Went to a school field been going to lately. Found wheats there before.

This morning was frosty, fingers where freezing.

Found the wheat first (standard issue toasted). Was heading back towards the car when the silver Rosie showed up. Target right after was the sterling, target right after was the ring.

Circled the area trying to pull off a double silver coin day but wasn’t to be.

Decent amount of “been there awhile” clad $4.56.

Went home and sanded and hardwax oiled the stairs I put in.

Celebration ale time...

Happy hunting!

Nice score, Jeff! The stairs look awesome, too, man.

Thanks Jeff! I will be going back to this field. It’s hard for me to get over to GV much, time-wise, and I think we’re switching swim teams this summer to Auburn, so will lose that convenience.... but I need to at least venture over and see if you left any crumbs under the table

I got two of three flights done. Ran out of oil. Ordered another can, so close to having the remodel mostly done. There’s always more to do though. Always!

KT enjoyed your post! Schools were KT's main spots when He was an active MDer! Stairs look mighty nice...be careful coming down them...you could fall and bust sumpin, like KT did once and busted His Royal Foot!:lol:

Thanks KT! Appreciated.

Congrats on the finds and the stairs look great.

Thank you Jam!

What everyone else said . I really like that giant photo of the 53' Rosie !

 Thank you SS!

Way to get out there! I'm going to start pretending to go back to my car at least a few times a hunt. That's when the goodies show up.

Nice job on the stairs. I do quite a few home improvement projects, including carpentry and finishing. Window seats, bookcases, trim, etc...

 I know it sounds cliché and all. I was technically making an effort to get back to my car, instead of 10 min back it took me 30.

That is a very nice outing Jeff. Congrats on the Rosie, the Sterling and all the rest. Trapper

Thanks Trapper! Every little bit is nice to find!

Nice hunting GS! I also seem to find the good stuff when heading back to the car, I think Toy Soldier has a solid idea in pretending to head back to the car a few times during a hunt. Congrats on the silver and all the rest!
P.S. As a professional wood finisher I have to say those stairs came out great! Nice job!

Congrats on the shiny and a fine hunt GS. The charm is a pretty sweet find as well. Stairs look good, how many coats ? I enjoy tinkering around with wood also. Happy Holidays, Mark

Thanks so much Ron! The remodel (moving stairs and making a bedroom etc) was a huge undertaking, no hired help at all. Glad I was able to pull it off. Metal detecting suffered, as did I, but the cause was worth it - my son and daughter have their own rooms now.

Thanks Mark. I only used one coat (heavy, then wiped down) of “Interbuild Hardwax Oil”. Did not want VOC’s as it’s winter and windows are closed and wood stove is going. I figure I’ll do another coat maybe next summer if needed. It’s still drying, but I’m happy with it.
