This past Sunday I got out with a couple of hunting partners to a spot (lake) I had noticed a few weeks ago and research showed promise.

Long story short, I dug what I thought was a Seated Liberty quarter and was pretty happy with it. My eyes aren't what they used to be so I couldn't see if it had a mint mark or anything.

When I got home and put it under a loop the CC mint mark jumped out at me and I was dumbstruck. After explaining to my wife how awesome a find this was I went to look at it some more and realized what it was.

A 20 Cent Piece.

I was speechless for a good 10 minutes. All I could say was, "oh my God, oh my God" over and over again.

GREAT find, rare coin, I think they only made from 1875 to 1878. Congratulations.

Incredibly hard coin to find, only seen 1 other one here in several years at least. Massive bucket lister for anyone, many don’t even know they exist. Even the wife should be impressed with THAT!!

Are you flipping kidding me! FANTASTIC DIG MAN!!! I can't believe you can still hunt in RI just about everything even the woods are locked up around here, HUGE CONGRATS!

I use to do a lot of coin collecting years ago, that's what got me into metal detecting. I never even new there was a 20 cent piece made in the US. Always learning new things when doing this hobby.
