I was hunting a NE Florida yard and it’s not uncommon to find both fired and dropped ammo.

Found this big heavy unfired round and am wondering if anybody recognizes this because the guys at a couple of gun shops had no idea what it is. Somebody said they believed it was Swiss in origin and thought it dated to the 1860s. Another thought it came from an elephant gun.

Either way it would pack a punch

It is a beast of a bullet. No stamp on the bottom of the case? Not to go off topic, but my wife took me to the gun show here in Jax this past weekend and bought me my B-day gift. A Rhino 357. One of the reasons she got it for me is because I hunt some shady parts of town. Best wife ever:D
