Any ideas what this is? Iron...

I posted this in the ID section also. Trying to get more eyes on it. It was found in a field across the road from where some CW artillery was found. A buddy also found one in a field a mile or so away. It is hollow all the way through.

It reminded me of a barrel part also. I just can't figure out what gun exactly.
