Finally worked up the courage to knock on a door and ask for permission. The first house the lady was super cool and I found 3 wheats in the front yard. Need to go back and hit the back yard. 2nd house the couple was hesitant but I convinced them- an hour later I had $1.76 in old clad and a 1962 Rosie, plus an old ornate lock I insisted that they keep. Permissions are like detecting private parks for the first time. Nothing like it!
