My neighbor contacted me today and asked if I could help find a hearing aid at an athletic field. I told her if it is there, I can find it.

Has anyone ever found one and what numbers should I be looking for? I know that battery will give me a signal, but what signal? Also, it will be on the surface so that might change things.

Thanks in advance,
Erik

Your best bet is to take a reading of off another one, if they had 2.

X2.
you could also scan one of her battery's as it's likely going to be the largest metal item in an aid. but you've also got various amounts of other metals in there and i think you'd get a mid to high tone, probably in the 80's and maybe a bit jumpy from the other metals.
good luck with the search!

So it scanned at 04. Terrible signal. Almost like the battery wasn't even there. But, I did find it.

04? wow, that's quite a surprise, i thought it would be much higher.

well, the main thing is that you found it! glad to hear that, i know those little suckers are quite costly. i also know firsthand what it's like for both the wearer and for others around them how difficult it is trying to get by without one, my dad is stone deaf without his.
