Posting these up for my digging buddy. Life got in the way for me today, so I couldn't go. Looks like I missed out! I'll let MoBob tell the story!
Goodness gracious what a hunt. Have you got an ID on the little tear drop bullet, or is that a carved Colt 44? What are the two eagle pics at the bottom?
Some really cool relics there. Nice variety of finds too. .69s .58s pistols carbines. Just awesome!
What a nice mix , congrats

sweet!
Thanks, the teardrop is actually not a pistol round in this case , from what I can tell it is a .65 CSA round known as a Saxon or Hanovarian round a first for me. DIA .650 LGTH. .900 The Eagle is a piece of cast or pot metal I dug , it was down around 7" upside down when I flipped it over the eagle is what I saw , thought cool so brought it home and cleaned it. Maybe off a stove or old pot , don't really know.
Yep! Saxon/Hanovarian and very sweet! That eagle piece is really cool, I've seen that image somewhere before. Looks very familiar, but I can't quite place it. Super hunt!
Great finds!
Love those "you just don't find those every day" rounds! Great hunt, there!
Excellent finds MoBob! I hope to find some of those items some day. We met and talked one night several years ago at the Metal Detecting day just south of you. Good luck on future hunts.
