Kellyco Metal Detectors Helps Maine High School Start Archaeology Club

“Do you ever see a fat archaeologist?” That is the question that secured a small grant to teachers Howard Whitten, Brian Hanish, and Alan Richmond at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine. With the help of Kellyco Metal Detectors they will use the grant to start an Archaeology club for students interested in a hands-on history lesson.

I'm glad to hear about things like this, and wish I had a neat opportunity like that back in HS

That's a great idea, because so many kids hate studying history, a hands on approach may make it more interesting.

Also good if it helps them think about the history of what they might find, rather than it's monetary value.

Man, That's brilliant! Get the kid's involved and generate future hunters.
