Found: Fashion Academy Award from 1953

Found it at my mom's house last weekend. I found a website that has a picture of it.

But its just the bottom part. Of course the ribbon deteriorated. It was right next to the driveway. I guess someone who lived there before may have owned a Studebaker. I'll post a pic when I get home. Anyway just thought I'd share b/c this is the first neat thing I've found. Everything else is clad.

The back says: Awarded to Serbin The Fashion Academy Gold Medal. I don't know if everybody that bought a Studebaker had a medal made with their name on it or if maybe the dealership got one. If anybody's got some info please let me know.

That's a great find - does yours actually say Studebaker on it? Maybe it was given out to other products. Also it might have been a key fob given out by dealers.

Sorry we had bad weather last night and I didn't get a chance to post a pic. I'll try to get one up tonight.

It does not say Studebaker on it but neither did the one pictured. And I don't think they would award more than one car the same award in the same calendar year.

When I was a kid I wanted a Studebaker my dad said no way as parts were hard to come by in our area... lol anyway cool find!
