Just purchased a groundhog not working. Had a quick look over screws rusty and the battery compartment is in a very sorry state. Will have provide plenty TLC to bring it back to life

That's an interesting power board. If all else fails, hard backed 9v connectors can be picked up cheaply on Amazon and epoxied in place of those.

My repair.

Used some battery clip leads from a 9 volt battery connector

Remove the rusty sockets breaking away from the board. Don't remove the stem. File the rivet stem flush with the board. Using a 2 mm drill out the center of the stem. One will need to wobble the drill a little as a reamer for the hole to be 2 + mm
Finally the 9v snap ons arrived

Next solder the riveting

Then using small side cutters and nose pliers remove the mounting cardboard This will expose the shaft.

Using a dremel and needle files turn down the shoulder so the connector will sit flush on the board Now using an old flat battery as a holding guide load the sockets on the drilled out stems. Using side cutter to cut the the pin length to the stem head File the cut so the sharp point is is flatter. Use a temperature soldering iron to solder the the pin to the stem head ( track side) The repair is good as the original

Now main board cleanup

What stands out is the electrolytics caps have seen better days. Coil input socket looks fairly corroded ICS and components have rusty residue around them It will require parts to be removed replace & cleaned Male to male power socket pin are corroded which needs cleaning / replacement
