well I'd say step two is (if you belong to the church of the compadre) just nudge that dial right to about a teensy weensy past the center if the Iron setting for gold rings 
if your compadre is supertuned then well have a shovel instead of a hand digger,,

Normx2... that's about right! love them! I do have other machines and controls get knocked etc... have t reset etc... its so nice to use the Compadre sometimes.
my guru who taught me 20 yrs ago recently went AT PRO and said he wishes he could order it with an on/off switch preset to one program so to make the machine cheaper without all the rest. no pinpoint no sens no disc settings etc.. just a simple flip the switch and its set. and he is a serious relic hunter... and as good as they come...
