I purchased this vintage towel with the logo " HAPAG Hamburg - Amerika
Linie".
Under the logo there is a M&S .07 .So presumably the towel is from 1907.
That would mean the date is 5 years earlier than the Titanic sinking
By the turn of the century there was an important immigration wave from
Europe to America.
My grand-grandfathers emigrated from Hamburg to America in the 1880's,
but they chose the South America route as final destination for a new life
in a new continent. I am proud to be part of this history too.
