Exploring Colorado ghost towns and mines...please advise...

Okay, so I'm seriously considering the Tesoros...I'm looking at the Cibola, the Silver UMax and the Tejon (which is the only one listed on their web site as a 'Relic' hunter).

Which should I get? I am interested in ghost towns, old homesites, looking for "stuff," not necessarily coins. Victorian jewelry, old equipment, blades, hinges, etc., is what I'm most interested in...

Don't know much about some of the specs, such as ground balancing (no clue what that means), and what does All-terrain mean in the context of metal detecting? Does it mean I can put it in a stream? Or is it talking about mineral-rich soil versus clay versus dirt lot?

Can someone look at the specs and let me know which is best for me?

Thanks everyone! Don't want to assume the most expensive is the best. This is also my first metal detector so I can't spend a TON of money but I'm willing to spend a bit more than beginner prices if it truly means a jump in quality...
