I use it in heavy iron.. and full tones in trash. Works great!

Pitch tone can get you in trouble in my neck of the woods.
Why?
Soil mineralization
Example 10" deep quarter.
Deep mode factory disc 5.5 ( this disc hard to hunt in iron with btw) will cause broken tone- 18khz only freq to even give a broken tone.

If I go to full tones 0 disc 18khz, good signal with appropriate reactivity setting and silencer-1.

Disc turned up above around 2.5 using Deus keeps Deus held back somewhat on some 3 d unmasking too- not on all scenarios but does on some.

Yeah I know soil has an impact on how the machine acts. I been running disc at 10 here for some months now. I found my GW and Adams this way and have hunted behind others and cleaned up. The pitch tone is different and takes some getting used to ,but in iron I love it. It unmask with a disc of 10 better than full tones with a low disc in the test I have conducted. I do realize soil plays a role though. BTW will a equinox Thursday....

OMG people, I just went to a nail infested site I have been hammering for 2 years and used this program. I built mine on hot but long story short, it rocks! I would have bet anybody this place was barren of a coin, any coin but I pulled 2 wheats, a memorial, a zincoln and a junker ring (among other non ferrous items) from the nails. One wheat was in an area I had pounded a hundred times in full tones! Don't turn 90 degrees using this because many of the things I found were only audible from one direction but they were in fact non ferrous. I was not looking at vdi so I dug some foil and junk but am still amazed at what I found. Thanks again calabash, keep up the good work getting this info to us!!

Very informative using pitch. I have made good finds with the Deus and the 11" LF but always wanted a smaller coil.

I am considering the 9" HF, but then I saw all these posts about the NOX 800.

That just kinda froze my decision. I hunt mainly plowed field, some home sites. On occasion a park.

I guess I could invest more into the Deus, or an alternate decision with the NOX 800, when its available.

Decisions, decisions
