From my reading I have learned that a small coil will seperate the "good" from the "bad" better. I was wondering will a small coil help id a target better on a detector without a TID? I guess what I am asking is - now that I have a decent machine (in my opinion) (a Tesoro Cibola) would a smaller coil help me determine what the target is before I dig it? Shouldn't it help with "sizing" the target when pinpointing. Now to save up for that smaller coil. Maybe someone could give me a really good deal on one for all the brown nose points i have collected for saying Mr. *** is such a great guy to deal with so buy from him. Shhh Tony might be listening  Steve.

I have found that it is somewhat easier to get a fix on the size of a target with a small coil. Also, once you get used to pinpointing with it, the probe becomes less of a necessity. I always have mine, but don't usually need it for coin size targets. There are other advantages as well.

I don't think Tony heard you. Better send him a PM. ;)

Happy Swingin
