Today was an amazing hunt day and it just goes to show you that you never know where you're going to find stuff.
Background: The other day I spotted an old bridge in the woods near us and a hill beyond it and I thought to myself, "We're going to hunt up that hill soon - something just seems right about it." And after today's finds, I believe we stumbled upon some sort of late 1800's - early 1900's operation. I am not sure what kind of operation it was, but there were tons of iron signals, old cans, heavy metal parts, etc.
Pretty much the first thing I hit with my 400 was a 1901 Barber about 5" down. Right then we knew we were on to something. Over the next 4 hours we ended up with the following:
My son nabbed the 1903 IH and 1914 Wheatie with his 300. What a day! We are so thrilled. HH all!

- 1890 IH
- 1903 IH
- 1914 Wheatie (turns out this is a great year, but we found a non-minted coin which means Philly and not that rare I believe). Darn!
- (7) early 1900's headstamps; 5 of which we do not have
- Some sort of metal melting ladle (handle broke off)
- And some other odds and ends.
