I can’t identify the language on this button or what it might be from. Found it detecting on an old farm in upstate New York. It may be silver but I have not tested it. It is the size of a dime( I found this 1937 merc on the same hunt). Any help is appreciated.
UPDATE: I cleaned the find with water and put under 60x magnification. The markings appear to be possibly carved by hand. They are irregular and there appear to be many areas where the carving tool bit into the rim while creating the linear vertical grooves.
I’m way out of my realm here. Calling all history, Cyrillic language and/or button experts!
