I have come across many quarters dated 1965 as I'm sure you have. I always think "Wow, so close to '64, there's got to be some silver around here somewhere". So then I got a coin book and I find out that 1965 was the highest mintage year ever at a little over 1.8 billion !

No wonder they're everywhere. :no:

Not surprising, as it was kind of necessary to have a huge mintage considering how many quarters that were going to be pulled out of circulation due to silver content.
