In learning your new machine, I suggest joining the AT Pro social group on this site. There are tons of members that have vast experience - one of the most useful posts has ALL the VDI numbers of where the "good stuff" you could find with your machine.

Just ran them under some water with a soft brush. They were all pretty shiny when they came out of the ground though. I was expecting a blue green tarnish, but none of them had it.

Looks to me like you're doing it just right... Not all targets that give you good repeatable tones and good numbers are going to be keeper targets... And yes, you will definitely dig nails with the AT, especially as you start going after those deep, faint, and iffy targets where you know there's good potential. That is a sweet hunt - keep doing what you're doing! :yes:
