Default 3D compadre.....3 disc circuits

Another Frankenstein compadre.
Added two extra preset disc circuits.
Three position toggle to select between them.
The schematic isn't too hard to find.
A quick Google search should lead you to
Bleaver's post on the Finds forum.
Here's a video showing how it works.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

That's awesome!

I may have to do that to mine.

btw, have you done the 5 pin coil connector mod?

I have an extra set of male and female connectors that I would be willing to sell at basically cost. It cost the same to order 2 sets when you included the minimum service fee to order 1.

I ordered a 2nd set when I did mine as well. I'd hang on to them, never know when they may come in handy.

No, I haven't added the coil plug.
The little coil is perfect for the compadre for my needs.

Thanks for the offer though!

Just google Tesoro 3D and you should find a thread on findmall forum.
Bleaver posted the schematic somewhere.
It's relatively easy as you only have to solder/desolder on the disc pot.
No connections to solder on the circuit boards.

I'm currently working on one for a friend.
When this hurricane hoohah is over I'll try
and post a photo of the circuit pre install.

I'd looked before posting, just looked again. Maybe he deleted it.

My search wording wasn't right I guess?
Should be at the bottom of this page

Geez, I swear....sorry to sound like a nagging ol' biddy

So, what trim pots and where'd you get them from? I looked in a couple of his posts, and saw no mention of it.

Here's pic of one for my friends compadre.

You unsolder white wire from disc pot and solder it to the open terminal on the switch. Red and black get connected to the same colors on disc pot. Green goes to were the white wire was on disc pot. Then you just adjust the trimmers to the setting you want.

This is set up like the Troy detectors with the coin check.
You could also just add one extra disc circuit with a full sized
potentiometer and have a homemade mini Tejon.

The red and black wires go to the 1and 3 connections on the pot, and the white goes to the 2 terminal which is the adjustable wiper lead.
I used green because that's what I had.....green=white
Your basically sending the signal to multiple potentiometers and selecting which one makes it go beep with the toggle.

Also, I didn't need to adjust it for this one but he said that he had to tweak the disc trimmer on the circuit board a tiny bit on one or two that he modded.
The factory trimmer on the board fine tunes the top end of the discrimination.
He said he had to adjust it to make zincs completely disc out.
If you do have to adjust, mark it before hand so you know where you started.

I was looking at parts from some of the places I'd bought from before, trying to get everything at one spot.....started getting cross-eyed Figured I'd look later, I think I may even have the switches, have to go out and look tomorrow. Thanks again!

Especially Mouser. I did finally figure-out how to use their filtering system, so that helped. I did get parts ordered last night, well this morning . I just hope they're the right ones, LOL!

Here's links and part numbers:

**These are NOT momentary switches** (they are On-On-On, not M-o-M)
ETA: These switches arrived and were in fact momentary.

Good job posting the part numbers and links!
I'm always bad about that stuff.

Good luck with the project!

I ordered the wrong switches, they'll work fine, just not momentary, which may not be a bad thing. But I edited my above post accordingly. Trimmers are cheap, switches....not so much

Curious, did you have any trimmer pots you couldn't adjust properly? I know Bleaver mentioned using test leads starting-out before making final solder connections. To me it seems like that would be as much trouble as just soldering a couple wires.

Thanks again
