I don't believe this is a ring because the stone is on the side of the metal. Anybody have an idea what this could be from or what it is?

I don't think it's a ring either. The bends seem to be angled sharply on purpose. Do you think it was broken off of something larger?

It could be off something bigger. When I get home I'll test the stone but I'm pretty confident it's not real.
