I want to MD around some old Gulag sites in Russia

Is anyone familiar with Russian metal detecting laws? I've not yet been to Russia, but I am exploring the option of a metal detecting hunt around some abandoned Gulag sites. I don't expect any physical security at these locations, but it is best to err on the side of the law before I end up on the next episode of "Locked Up Abroad".

Why would you want to do that ? Are you in to digging graves :?:

Plus do not forget that Gulag camps were located in the most inhospitable areas of Russia.
There are some official search teams in Russia that look for fallen soldiers of WWII and relics of the war as well, try searching for their info as they do have web sites in Russian language that is.........as well as there is some info in English also .See what they have to say .........maybe they will take you on the tour .
