Interesting piece of copper

Here's a piece I found while detecting and old home site about ten years ago. I still have no clue what it is exactly. It's made of copper and has no markings anywhere that I can discern. It looks as though it had a small wire hanger soldered or welded to it at one time.

Maybe it's and old Christmas tree ornament? Any ideas?

Great find EricD. How big is it?

Maybe some sort of mirror? It would have to have a handle on it though and I can't see any evidence of that in your pic. HH.

Yeah. It absolutely could be a mirror. I didnt consider that. No real evidence of a handle though. Only the spot where a wire had been attached.

The diameter is 2.75" about the same as a modern day makeup compact.

Yes my wife agrees on the compact idea or maybe she says a broach of some kind.

It's always tough when there is no engraving on a find to look up. But that's the breaks with relics sometimes.
