I saw the band Kansas perform live last night at a local casino/racetrack. The concert was free. I've seen them three times before that but not within the past 8 or 9 years. They were GREAT! They have always been one of if not my favorite band. To me they are the most distinctly AMERICAN band that has ever been.

Just my 2 cents! Check them out if you get the opportunity.

I've seen a lot of bands in my lifetime but never Kansas. I didn't know they were still touring. I am glad you had a good time.

Saw them way back in 1974 or 1975...they were great...I think.

Hard to remember, it was the 70's!

Very good band indeed. My favorite all time band is STYX but Kansas is right up there.

I saw Styx back in the day, too. (70's)

About 10 years ago they came through here on an "oldies" tour and they were still good.
The lead singer was fighting with the band so he was not there, but the other members took on the vocals and they sounded fine.

Forgot how many great songs they had...good times!

Gads...that takes me back a ways! Never did catch Kansas live, but loved their albums, back in High school & Jr High...

The last time I went & saw them, Dennis DeYoung ( lead singer and organ and piano player) was not with them, Lawrence Gowan took his spot, it was a really good concert but not the same without Dennis. Not trying to hijack the Kansas thread just brought back many good memories of back in the day when I got to go to few concerts.
