My son and I unearthed these relics from the local lake shore today. The oldest is a 1952 wheat penny, the rest of the coins are regular modern clad. The lake was built in the 1930's so there isn't a whole lot of really old stuff. The coolest is the old expandable army type cup. I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid. We had fun, but a storm is rolling in so home we went.
The teknetics alpha 2000 is going to take some getting used to, I can find stuff easier with the bounty hunter tracker iv at this point. The GP pointer (Garrett knock off) works pretty well, way better than the harbor freight pin pointer. The teknetics alpha sure does not like the pin pointer anywhere within about 6 feet of it.
Had a fun learning experience with the boy today.
