Got this at an old home site Sunday afternoon.

No clue what it is.

Stamped brass, I guess.

Says, "PATENT 1889" or "PATENT 1869".

Yep, suspender clip

Search google for "1800's suspender clip" then look at images..you may not find that exact one but enough examples to get the general idea.

As I ventured into hunting these old home sites, some of these relics are a treat to find.

There are so many items we find which aren't obvious.
 
Man you guys are fast! I was googling my butt off finally found it and came back to post and you guys already knew it was a quarter. The intelligence of this site never ceases to amaze me. :laughing:
