I found a cool lock and cleaned it up a bit. I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to the manufacturer, time period etc. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I believe that is brass. Looking at some online sites, that was a popular style in the mid to late 1800's.

I can't clean it any further, the iron part is to gone, I poked a hole in the side of it on accident ... haha. As far as it being gold or not, I assumed it was brass. I found it in a semi swampy area.
