No way of getten round it, this old Arkie digger has been revolving for a

while now. :?:

I have revolved from a fairly fit digger, who could handle just about any

tool you handed him

to a point where, if I squat down 3 or 4 times, I gotta sit down before I

fall down.:(

Technology has been struggling to keep with the demands of an ever

changen old digger.:?:

Slowly, it has progressed from the fiskers hand digger,

to the demands of an ever changing world.:duh: The new advances in

technology in new light weight composites has made it possible to

increase the length of my diggen tool by 60% while the weight only

increased by 25%. :tumble:

Another advancement that helped during the Arkie Revolution was the

advent of the optional electronic pin pointer extension.

All these remarkabull advancements aided in the revolution of this old

Arkie digger. ;)

Now I can spend more time MD'en and less time fallen out.

:lol::lol: But on a serious note.. you have an excellent point... as we get older, adding some modifications helps us to continue... reduce the discomfort and stay active. Thanks for an excellent post. RickO

Tabdog, I can always count on you for a good laugh! Thanks!!!

Keep the ideas coming. I have been wondering myself how to get on my knees a little less. I have been digging about 20 targets an hour and by the 20th hole I am using my MD as a cane to get up. The shaft and coil have not snapped under the stress yet, but if I don't find a better way I may be in trouble.

Glad you are able to get out and hunt some, and keep us thinking while you are not.

Hay cb,

You know where I'm coming from.

The shovel only weighs one pound.
That's less than a lot of hand diggers.

It's a 27" shovel from Lowes. It is
tempered steel and weighed two
pounds new. I cut one pound off by
reshaping the spade with a grinder.

I can dig with this and only have to
bend a little. No squating. I bend all
the way to retrieve the target. That's
it. Just once!

There is room for improvement there.

But!

I can bairly feel it on my belt.

Extending the pin pointer really assist
in finding the target without bending
over.

Making no squatting and bending once
per target.

We old guys gotta use our heads to find
a way to keep up.

Happy Hunting,

Some one asked " how do you carry that stuff around ".

I said " I don't, it just follows me around ".

I don't think he believed me, so here's a photo.

Here' the thing that makes them follow me.

Took all of five minutes to make.

It's a belt holder. Real handy.
