Baja Metal Detecting

I have just ordered a DFX, and am looking forward to using it in the mountains and beaches of San Diego. I just got to thinking... I like to go to S. Baja during the winter, and wonder if anyone has experience or knowledge of using a detector down there. For instance, searching the beaches or nugget shooting in the surrounding hills.
Any info would be appreciated !!

Greetings, I just ordered a Tesoro Vaquero. I play in the local mountains in the south eastern part of San Diego. A lot of old mine sites, dry washes stuff like that.

I'm new to this metal detecting stuff, so I'm going to try and get out into the hills and desert areas. I've been mapping areas, taking pictures. Now I've got something else to do while I'm out there.
