JGD Pre Hunt Digs

I got to hunt a Stafford area camp on Wed before JGD. Got into a mess of fired minnies. I believe this is where patrols would empty their weapons before entering the camp. All these bullets came from a very small area.

On Thurs Joe and I dug in a Fredericksburg area camp. Found a couple of minnies, a general service coat button, poncho grommets and a lot of camp lead and buck balls. Also dug a period mechanical pencil that I believe is silver. I didn't know what it was and almost pitched it -- glad I didnt!

Couple of nice hunts buddy , man love that pencil. Well have to get out and do some digging in the next week or so. Congrats on a nice variety of finds man.

Was good to see you and your son. Yeah, I'm really liking that GPX -- its great in the hot dirt and works good at home too. Still got a lot to learn about it though

Thanks, buddy. I really like the pencil too. First one I've ever seen. We need to get out soon! If the weather doesn't improve, we may have to make another ice hunt!
