I was in the market for a coil ear stiffener for my nox with an aftermarket Anderson shaft. Having one of the very first manufacturing runs of the equinox, my coil ears are still holding up, but I figured it’s better to be safe than sorry so I started looking around for a coil ear stiffener. I found out that one of our forum members (Torquemaster) makes coil ear stiffeners so I contacted him via PM to see if he could make me one for my Anderson shaft. The radius of the lower end of the Anderson shaft (the section where the bolt goes through) is quite a bit bigger than the radius of the stock equinox lower shaft. Torquemaster who’s name is Jim got me to take some measurements and then he printed me a very nice coil ear stiffener that fits perfectly. Here’s some pics:

I love the way it hugs the sides of the coil and the recessed area for the tightening screws to set in. Very nice design!

There’s also slots so you can zip tie it to the coil if you want. Zip ties would probably work well if one of the ears was cracked.

Hey NCtoad,

I was glad we could modify the design to fit your Anderson shaft. The same stiffener will also fit normal shafts, so it looks like I now have a V4 version with the thicker ears with knob recesses to offer. Glad y'all like it!
