Well I was helping the dive shop move today and had the unfortuneate experience of having an air compressor with a 15 horse 3 phase electric motor on a cast iron frame dropped on my right hand after it slipped off a forklift. Over a thousand pounds I am sure.

Broke my third and forth fingers and who knows what else. Need to see a hand specialist in Detroit in a few days at the VA hospital. Right now in a very restrivtive splint.

So all you Michiganders have a chance for a month or two unfortunately. I never had a broken bone in my life. This really bites. At least I am alive!!!

Good luck out there all.

Damn, that stinks. Wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see all those great finds soon.

Now, don't you know that is the stuff you do when there is ice on the lake.... NOT when prime time is starting up north!

Hoping for a quick mend so you can get out there and get some of that trashy gold and platinum that is scattered throughout the bullets.....

dude that sucks!

hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery..and the water will be warmer by the time you get back!

Scuba, sorry to hear about your injury, guess you may be lucky that's all that was injured when a machine like that gets loose!! Man, the Feds last spring and now this, gotta get some good luck going your way!!

Dang man that sounds like something I would have happen to me. Hang in there, get well and I hope you're hunting again ASAP!

Dag Scuba that had to hurt and still hurt. I got my index finger caught in a log splitter years ago, I can't imagine a big heavy compressor smashing down.....sheer pain...

Get well soon!!

Dog gone it all Scuba. I was waiting for your next post and almost PMed you yesterday to see what's what. I didn't want to see anything posted like this.

I really hope you don't have any permanent damage and I hope you mend quickly and get back in the water really soon. Keep us posted please.

I had something similar happen a few years ago with a refiner hood at work. I have pics of my hand at work and will email them to myself tomorrow and post them here tomorrow night. Quite a story.

Jeeeeeeeeeeez man, you're lucky you only broke a few bones by the sounds of it... Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Bad timing, Food for thought. Sorry, i can't help you until late fall but don't call after February. I have been promised out the rest of the year.:detector:

Sorry to hear that. The compressor I have in my shop fell on the guy I bought it from in the 80's. He had a compound fracture too his leg which put him out of commission for months. Those compressors are dangerous to move because most of them are top heavy.

Hopefully you will have a fast recovery. If you are like me i cant stand restrictions..... good luck.

You're right. I was suposed to pull the pallet out and it fell before I got a grip on it. Crashed down on my fingers and bounced back up and I pulled my hand out. I do NOT want to think what it would have done to my hand if it would have pinned my hand to the cement floor. Bouncy pallet sure was a plus.

They don't know the extent of the damage till I see a specialist. Too swolen right now.

Sorry to hear it. With any luck you'll be back in the water by Labor Day. All that deep cheddar will still be there waiting for you. Heal well!

Dang! That sucks to hear!!

Hope it gets feeling good enough to go back out, I mean, back under, soon...

Glad you still have your hand and all your fingers!!

Get well soon...
