It seems to say M6M all the way around it but I have no idea what that means.
Anyone know what this button might be?

Looks German or Austrian. Just a guess. M6M?? Picture of the back might help.

I agree with MaineHunter, but Im leaning more towards German. I have seen similar bird (eagle/Phoenix) on early 1930 German coins. The bird on the austrian coins is a little plane compared to many of the birds on the German coins.

The back isn't any help. It probably had a little loop in the center that has rusted away. Looking at my World Coin book I saw the same bird on German coins from 1890 to 1916, so I think it being German is probably right. Maybe some one knowing German military will figure out the M6M. Good Luck
