Over the past few months I've been digging up this war of 1812 campsite I discovered in the woods. I have found around 70 flat buttons in this small area. I was able to identify around 9 from the War of 1812. Most were American infantry and artillery ones. But I can't seem to find a match for these buttons. I know you can't see them that well but I tried cleaning them the best I could. Also found what looks like to be the bottom half of a badge that says crimea on the bottom. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen this or knows what it was? Some people said it might be a crimean war campaign medal or something but if it was I was wondering why it would be found with all of the war of 1812 stuff? Also this small lead thing that says JD on it?

Great finds.
I looked through all my standard button ID web sites and did not find a match to the first one. The script is in the style of many 1812 regiment buttons.

Possible the Crimea item was dropped there much later?

The JD item reminds me of solder's game pieces.
