Miniature brass barbell?

Found this in a field at a mid to late 1800's home site. It appears to be brass.

antique nose ring for rebellious youth

was fairly popular for a certain time period in the 1800's

then belly button piercings were all the rage. Right before cell phones became popular

Maybe? Could be for a prince Albert too!
