Since the Ace series just have single bell tones for different metals, what would be considered an iffy signal? I usually know when my machine falses, but how do you tell the difference between iffy and falsing? Don't want to miss anything!

IMO an "iffy" signal on my ACE 250 is always consistant- not just one beep. The signal may be scratchy or broken up, weak, or consistant jumpy ID. IMO "falsing" are inconsistant beeps and "ghost signals"- beeps you can't get to repeat at all. Hope this helps. GL and HH. Matt

One of the simplest and best explanation I've seen on the subject.

also, if the numbers on the screen are going everywhere. now, that doesn't necessarily mean the item in the ground is junk, but usually it's a pretty good indicator. :)
