Where To Learn More About Detectors?

The Surf PI is a salt water only detector in my opinion. It can be used at fresh water areas but a VLF will do better there. The Excalibur may be heavier but once in the water weight does not become an issue. The Excal is the best overall since you can use it anywhere and you won't lose depth in fresh water or land use. The Surf PI is lighter and can be used longer but you will find all the trash. The Excalibur will disc out any amount of trash you want to. As far as scoops go , there are aluminum and stainless. The aluminum are less heavy but wear quicker. There are beach and there are water scoops. Don't buy a beach scoop and expect to use it in the water. You'll break it quickly. So you need to look at whether or not you are going to do a lot of water hunting or a lot of beach hunting. If you need any more help let me know.
