Dug this yesterday at an old home site occupied late 19th century till maybe the 1930s. Shaped exactly like a spoon but completely flat, and made that way, not just flattened. Sticks to a magnet so wasn't a fancy version of whatever it is...

It looks like a spoon because......it is a spoon....flattened..by reason or accident

If it was flattened it was well done, it is perfectly flat with no trace of having been curved...

Maybe part of a decorative wall hanging or something. Just for display and not actual use.

I've dug a spoon like this. From what I gather folks would flatten spoons and make wind chimes out of them.

Before spoons are spoons they are flat. They are stamped from flat stock then shaped. I think you have a half made spoon.

If it is *perfectly* flat and you find more like it in the general vicinity, I'd guess that you found a flatware manufactory. But a regular, standard spoon can get smooshed without much noticeable damage. Are there maker's marks?

I need to try electrolysis in it, can't see anything...
