I want to keep my Sovereign GT running at peek performance. Does it ever need to be re-calibrated or tuned up?

I see some send the to Dixie Metal Detectors for the "Dixie Mod", but it doesn't sound like the factory settings and the tones change.

I think if you tested 10 machines off the line about half wouldnt be calibrated correctly regardless of company.... especially now with a mix of components from all over the world, varied tolerances for these components, and where they are being assembled. We have all experienced having a HOT machine or a coil that suddenly gets out of tune and becomes a HOT coil.... well just before it dies. Thats where having some indication as to how it air tests or using a test garden to standardize your machines comes in. You do know you can adjust the tones inside the box..... so id say unless that is their mod, once you got it back just adjust the tones back to what they were. Ive got mine set very close to what the Xcal sounds like.
