Got out with my good friend Frank yesterday to some new spots. On our way to them Frank spotted what he thought was a hole. We got out & walked around & yep, cellar hole!

This site produced this small knee buckle close to the hole. Then moved closer to the hole & got another good signal & pulled out the escutcheon plate. I worked my way to the back side & got a good signal between 7-8 down but a vine was in the way. A few good chops with my shovel took care of it. Dug down & low & behold a Fugio popped out! This is my 2nd one ever! After a while things quieted down and we got back in the car. We drove probably 100 feet & saw another one! I nabbed my 2nd Copper but alas it's toasted.

Thursday's Finds:

Thursday I was off from work & went to a new spot. Pulled the flat button out. 2 swings to the left & got another good signal & pulled out this beautiful shoe buckle. I also had the chape but it dropped out of my pouch somewhere, grr! Moved further out & got this small silver plated spoon. Continued further out & got the musket ball. Was a long day & hit the site pretty good but someone had been there a long time ago and left plow parts on the foundation.

2nd Fugio!???

That's just wrong. And right... on so many levels. Congrats!!

Good golly, I had to Google Fugio to figure out what you were talking about. I'd never even heard of them. And awesome that you've found two. Really incredible....

Can't believe so few responses! Got to be the only chain found this year ! Again, big congrats !!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

While we New England boys do have a ton of history, sites are very hard to find that haven't been already pounded by others in the past. The only real benefit is that you don't know when it was hit last, how old was the technology of the machine being used and how experienced was the detectorist. Weather & ground conditions also play a factor by pushing up deeper targets due to frost heaves...etc...

Awesome, heard of a Fugio but had to go look it up again for all the details :)
