The Little Wizard pin pointer - Anyone use it?

I found this probe/pinpointer online called the Little Wizard. It is made by the same company that makes the traditionally Wizard Probe.
The Little Wizard is meant for finding hidden nails and screws in lumber but it claims to find all types of metal at a maximum range of 2".
The best part is that it only costs $18.00 from Amazon.com
I was wondering if anyone out there has used one of these and if it is worth using as a probe?

I've used it. It works ok but is better if you do a conversion that moves the coil out into a probe tube. I've a file I can send you on how to do this.

The problem with this probe is that it gets sand and moisture into the on and tuning switch eventually ruining it. Also the need to keep turning it on and off and tuning it means it will wear out the switch. I went through 3 in one year before giving up and getting a vibraprobe.

But...it is fun converting them. They do work and the price is sure right!
