Tried the baking soda/tinfoil method on a ring today.

I tried the method described on this site about cleaning silver in a boiling solution with baking soda, salt, dish soap, and tinfoil. I found a mens silver ring in the ocean last month that was pretty black. After taking it out of the solution I still had to use a wet cloth with a little more baking soda on it, but the ring came out shiny.
 
They did come out nice from the tumbler. I had one .925 w/ a big pink stone that I was afraid to try in the boiling water, so I used baking soda and a toothbrush on it. It came out OK. I probably need to go ahead and get one. My hunting partner rakes in the clad as she stays up in the dry stuff. Between the 2 of us we've got some blackened coins.
