This week I had my brothers kids in from Arizona. The 12 year old has really gotten interested in detecting.
I took him out to a couple parks and gave him my AT Pro.
He managed a couple shallow coins but seemed confused and had a hard time pinpointing.......We ended up trading machines back and forth for the day.
The majority of the finds were clad, and far in between... After a long hot day, I got a slammin signal.....No doubt it was a deep silver....A super strong 12-46, 10-47, 9-46.......I was pretty certain it was gonna be a quarter, but boy was I surprised.
The next day I managed a 1940 GW, and a bit later I get a tiny chirp...I knew it was deep silver, I got a strange variety of signals, ranging from 1-44, 19-44, to 14-47 from 10-12 inches.....it ended up being a dark tarnished merc at around 9 inches. The 17 inch coil does show the targets being a tad bit deeper.
Our area has been extremely dry this summer, everyones lawns are crazy brown...The ground has been crazy hard, and I know my machine loses some depth in these conditions.....but I was super happy to snag a few this week.
The merc puts me at 70 silvers fty.
oh yeah, I did a couple live dig vids. I just uploaded one, which my nephew shot(his first attempt of this sort) Its rough, but I included the screenshots and full recovery......
