Haha. Nice Merc. The 2nd coin I ever found was a '42 Merc. You'll never forget it! Just hope it doesn't take 5 months to find another like me. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. That silver did get me hooked. I went out again yesterday and found out that I really need a pinpointer. I even had my wife go with me and she had fun as well.

Talk about beginner's luck - it took me 50 hunts to find my first silver coin, and 18 months to find my first mercury dime!

I highly recommend getting a pinpointer - it really reduces the time spent digging targets. Like many others, I use the Garrett ProPointer and I'm very happy with it.
