For my first detector would I be better off with a White's MXT or a XLT?
Or neither.
I have been wanting to get into detecting for a long time and would like to get a top of the line detector. I was also looking at Minelabs but couldn't make up my mind on witch model.
Thanks for any help
Dale

First of all welcome to the forum. I currently use a DFX but did have an MXT before that. I guess it all depends on the type of hunting you will be doing and what the conditions are in your area. I really liked my MXT but after getting the DFX I wouldn't go back. You may also want to consider the M6 if you want a coin machine.

I would say the DFX is very good on coins and gold rings but the MXT probably has the upper hand when it comes to relics and prospecting for gold. The MXT has close ties to the Whites GMT which is a gold prospecting machine. Both the DFX and MXT have their good points and bad points. Like I said it just depends on the type of hunting you will be doing.

Welcome to the forum Dale! :D

Our first detector was an XLT and we have no regrets for getting it. I like it better than the MXT.
