Last week I posted about a strange ring I found while metal detecting. The plot thickens.

Last night, my buddy Billywhohad been in charge of the Maritime Museum, was able to take some clear pictures of the opposite side of the “coin” from inside the ring. There is a man’s face. It is easy to discern. Furthermore the man has a ruffled collar which Billy believes indicates he is a Spaniard. He continues to believe the ring is old, possibly 200+ years.

Billy is sending Richard, the archeologist, these new photos. He is still out of state and when he returns, hopefully we will learn more.

Congrats !!!!

....definitely looks very old, tried doing an image search but could not find anything quite like that so it is unique, hope you get a good report from the archeologist !

My guess is that it is Mexican, the "reverse" which is the side you see on the front o the ring appears to be similar to the Mayan or Aztec calendar, and the "obverse" with the mans face would appear to be Santa Ana
