Found this George Washington Inaugural Button button last week, was the last target of the day! My question: the button is sort of scalloped around the edge. Is this from being beat up in the ground for 200 years, or do you think it was done intentionally?

It was not in a fire, Environmental damage caused the damage. As you said 200 hundred years in the ground will do that. Yours is better than the one I found last week. Its the same variety as mine and a very cool find.
