I found a silver dime this morning. A fun 8 quarter coin spill this afternoon. Just went out on a short night hunt at a church I have hunted multiple times. Came across a solid, deep, steady 17 signal. I've already dug all the high tones at this church. I decided to look up some of the mid tones. This 17 signal turned out to be a gold ring! Only the 4th gold ring I have ever dug. Even by the moonlight, I knew it was gold. It is marked 10K. The stone is chipped, not sure if it is anything of value. What a great day of hunting! Thanks for looking.

Thanks Mark! That 17 signal is always canslaw or something of the sort. This signal was soild with no bounce. Its funny, whenever I dig a gold ring, I think to myself.... I KNEW that was a gold ring! Haha. You just have to dig those mid tones. You will be on to some gold soon. This ring is quite ugly, but I'll take $100+ dollars in gold melt any day.

Man that’s a killer looking ring! 17! Damn. I tell you my Compadre has found a decent amount of gold, I need to dig more with than currently I do with my Nox...

Congrats Stiff!

Awesome, that's a nice ring too! So I'm guessing 17 is above what a pull-tab usually rings up as?

Thanks! Yes. Those pull tabs and square taps usually come in between 13 and 16 for me. This signal had some depth to it. I figured canslaw typically wouldn't be that deep. It was solid from all directions. I've had signals like this before, that turned out to be really small pieces of canslaw that fooled the depth meter. Really happy with this one!

Congrats, Tyler, on your fourth-ever gold ring! It sounds like you had a fun day, with three separate hunts that each produced a neat find! Nice job.

I don't think it's ugly at all, in fact quite nice looking! Wonder if that's a real emerald. Congratulations and right now I'm the same color as the stone with envy.

Of the few gold rings I've found with my nox one of them was a solid 17. Lots of times those are pulltabs, but it seems to me pulltabs sound off a little "harsher" and that gold ring I found had a more mellow, softer tone to it.
