Flat button ID

Can you guys ID this button? I can read "CAROL" or " CANOL" & there's some design in middle of button. I'm hesitant on cleaning it up until I can figure out if it's something amazing. (Excuse my dirty fingers.)

Looks like they made a mold from a Spanish real and cast a button with it, similar to how they made period cast counterfeit coins.

That line on the back is a good indicator of age. It is likely as old as late 1700s.

Definitely not a real real! But I think better.

Here's is a find of mine... the mold to make such a thing. On the right is a mold for a small designed button.
