End of 2017, I made my best find to date.
I am blessed to have a permission that saw action during one of the biggest Civil War battles.
The day I found this, I had only found a few common bullets.

But that was OK.

I wish I had recorded the dig but I didn't. I wish I did mainly so I could relive the feeling of first sight when the plug was flipped.
The feeling was surreal and I can't remember how many times I shouted HOLY S**T before I calmed back down.

I hunt with an AT Max and also now hunt with a Nox 600. But that day was my 1st day on the site and I was traveling. I only had an Ace 250 with me.
So my greatest find was made on an older Ace 250!
The condition is amazing. All 3 hooks are in place and no real damage.

But I'm not posting just to show off the buckle. I have a question for any CW buckle guys/gals.

This is what is called a Confederate round corner Army of Tennessee plate found mostly in the Western theater. I know there are spun hooks variety and a line in hooks variety but mine is neither. Is anyone familiar with the varaitions of this particular buckle. I belive the Mullinax number is 125 (?). I would like to learn more about this series of buckles. There just isn't a great deal of info out there.

1st photo is right after digging it. It was laying flat and face up in the ground just like how it is positioned in the photo.
